“A Positive Attitude Will Take You Further Than Genius”

Genius is intelligence while positive attitude is character. Brilliance is brainpower, whereas positive attitude is a mind-set. But the key determinant of your future is not your brain-set, but your mind-set. An exceptional ability without a positive attitude will never fulfil his full potential. But the so called “average brain” equipped with a positive attitude can rule the world.

Your genius has no future in an environment of a negative mind-set. It is the quality of your mind-set that will determine all the successes of your genius. Attitude, not aptitude, will decide your future.

When your brilliance is long forgotten, your positive attitude will be remembered. The positive attitude of Jonathan toward David was remembered and worth documented than all his smartness. On the other hand, the memory of Samson’s haughtiness and lack of discipline often overshadow the greatness of his extraordinary abilities.

A positive attitude is having a mind-set that is in line with the Word of God. It is putting on the Mind of Christ through the constant renewing of your mind by the Word of God (Romans 12:2). It is thinking and acting the Word, rather than thinking and acting the world. It is to see every situation through the eyes of the Word, and not that of world.

A positive attitude is proof of confidence in God. Where others are sowing hatred as their only option, you are sowing God’s love as your incorruptible seed. Where there is stress and anxiety, you enter into God’s rest. When others are saying “they can’t”, you are declaring, “God in me can.” When others are throwing in the towel, you are persevering in faith.” Where they can only see hopelessness, you exude hope and expect great things in your future.

A positive attitude is the life-blood of all the talents and abilities of man. Your brain-set will never take you beyond the height your mind-set is capable of climbing. Therefore, instead of bragging on and hiding behind your gifting, talents and abilities, begin to focus on acquiring the mind-set of Christ – humility, diligence, truthfulness, patience, gentleness, faith, kindness, affirmation, love, joy, peace, faithfulness, self-control.

Let the Holy Spirit renew your thoughts and your attitudes. If you do so, your God-given ability will soar to become a source of blessings to your generation, making your memorable and influential, even your generation, and God will be glorified.

Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” Ephesians 4:22-24
