Create Your Desired Destiny By Your Decisions

Decisions decide life’s proceedings. Decisions are the birth places for life experiences. Your present is often a product of your past decisions. Likewise, your future will be decided by the decisions you are currently making. Every decision is a seed for the future. Whatever you are deciding today is a seed that will produce a harvest in your future.

Your destiny is never inevitable, but rather a product of your decisions. The price of your tomorrow is your present. Any decision you make today never exits your life. It simply moves into your future where it births your future experiences. Decisions are never mere choices, but powerful destiny builders. They are the jigsaws of which your future’s puzzle is made up. Decisions are the clay with which your destiny is sculptured.

The difference in people is their decisions. Winners make decisions that birth their preferred future while losers make decisions that create the present they love. Everything you are doing at the moment will either profit your present or your future. Some decisions create pleasure in the present, but birth pain in the future, while some create unpleasant experiences in the present, but birth unprecedented satisfaction in the future ( 2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

Jesus made a decision that created a favourable and unparalleled future for the world. He could have kept His divine robes and remained in His majestic Heavenly throne. But, He made a crucial decision in the garden of Gethsemane that rescued mankind from death (Mark 14:35-36). He was willing to endure excruciating pain in the present, in order to create a future of indescribable gain for you and me (Hebrews 12:2).

The bible is full of the accounts of men and women whose decisions decided their destinies. Moses decided not to enjoy the passing pleasures of sins in Egypt, but chose to suffer afflictions with the people of God (Hebrews 11:24-26). Joseph fled from sexual sins, willing to go through a torturous prison experience instead of sinning against God. His decision eventually created for him a future of royalty and influence.

Furthermore, the woman with the issue of blood decided to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment and was instantly made whole (Matthew 9:20-22). Jesus hung between two thieves. One thief decided to sneer at Him and missed out on heaven, while the other chose to humble himself and reach for Him, and then inherited eternal life (Luke 23:42-43). Your decision decides your destination.

The bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17).”

Every human is responsible for his destiny. God has made eternal provisions for our salvation, but the decision to appropriate this amazing grace lies with men. Therefore, humans choose where they want to spend their eternity. It is never a divine intention for any human to go to hell (2 Peter 3:9). Whoever ends up in hell orchestrate it by his decision. Hell was never made for humans, but for the Devil and his angels  (Matthew 25:41). Humans only end up in hell because they decide to ignore the amazing grace that brings salvation. God never sends anybody to hell. Rather men’s decisions determine their eventuality. Men decide their destiny.

But Wale, what about those little kids who died before they were old enough to make their own decisions? God is a just God. All children are His and He loves them dearly. He will focus to ensure their eternal life because of their innocence.

Now, what about those adults who never heard the gospel before they died? I am a firm believer that God never expects the same thing from everyone. God understands timing, process, opportunities and circumstances. That is why He says to whom much is given, much is expected (Luke 12:48). Divine expectation is always proportionate to your knowledge of God. God is extremely just and merciful and will deal with everyone according to His abounding mercy.

As mentioned earlier, contrary to the belief of some, God is never looking for someone to throw into hell. In fact, every single person who rejects Christ and eventually dies in sin crushes the heart of God. Human salvation was never without a cost. God made the ultimate sacrifice. It cost God His only begotten Son to orchestrate our salvation. Jesus died so that we could escape the wages of sin which is death (Romans 6:23). And that is why Christ is patient in His returning so that the whole world may hear the gospel and repent (2 Peter 3:8-9). The bible makes it clear that the whole world will be filled with God’s knowledge before the end of the age comes (Habakkuk 2:14). The only thing God owes man is opportunities – opportunity to repent, change, grow, forgive, influence, pray, praise, reach, verify loyalty, obey, just to mention a few.

In conclusion, you are the CEO of your life and God is your greatest investor. He has invested heavily and relentlessly in you to ensure that you are profitable (Ephesians 2:10). But it is your responsibility to make decisions that benefit your future and rescue your company (your life) from liquidation.

Why don’t you begin today to make a decision that will not only help achieve your desired earthly goals, but also will help secure your eternity in Christ? The quality of your decisions decides the quality of your future.

Questions:

  • Have you considered making a decision that guarantees your eternity?
  • How can you improve your decision-making process?
  • Do you often ask the Holy Spirit for help when making decisions?

If you would like to make a decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today, please pray this simple prayer of salvation:

Dear Jesus, I believe that you died for me and rose again on the third day. I confess I am a sinner. I need your love and forgiveness. Come into my heart. Forgive my sins. I receive your eternal life. Confirm your love by giving me peace, joy and supernatural love for others. Amen.

Congratulations! You are born again!

Please, inform a bible-believing church about your decision. You could also get in touch with me via our website and I would be delighted to help you further in your relationship with Christ.

Yours in Christ,

Wale
