Designed for Relationships (Blog 25 Feb ’12)

In this blog, Wale highlights the importance of relationships, explaining how we can never achieve anything by ourselves because we were designed to work, cooperate and depend on others. He talks about the ‘law of relationship’; how that nothing on earth was designed to exist in isolation. He talks about the strength of relationship, saying how…

“Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labour. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. And on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” (Ecc. 4:9-12 NLT)

Q: What kind of relationship would you describe as helpful?

Q:Can you think of a time in your life as an adult when you overcame something with the help of another person?

Q: Can you think of a time in your life as an adult when you didn’t overcome something because the right person wasn’t there to help?

Q: Do you think it’s important to maintain relationships with everyone you’ve ever been friends with?

Q: Is there a relationship in your life right now that you feel you should rekindle / need to end?

Q: Is there anyone you need to forgive because of disappointment / betrayal?

Remember, whatever the enemy had meant for your downfall, God can use for good!“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
