Expect a Miracle Today (LGD)

Definition of ‘miracle’: an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.

Q1: For you, what is one of the most remarkable miracles in the Bible?

The Bible also tells us of people like Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, “who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” Heb 11:32-34.

These are all clearly miracles which are borne out of faith.

Q2: Have you ever experienced a miracle in your life?

In his blog Wale says, “A miracle is a divine reaction to your faith.” The Bible also tells us that, “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6) and that we only need a mustard seed of faith to move mountains:

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Matt 17:20)

NB: According to the King James edition, it is not our lack of faith that gets in the way, but our unbelief. We only need a ‘mustard seed’ – a tiny particle!

Q3: What issue in your life needs a miracle today? Can we lay aside our unbelief, put our faith together and pray for it?
