Increase

Unleashing Your Increase

Increase is a divine instruction. Multiplication is a commandment from God. In Genesis 1:28, God blessed Adam and Eve and gave them His first instruction, “…Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” God is into increase.

God said to the Israelites in Leviticus 26:9, “I will look on you with favour and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.” Likewise in Leviticus, God’s divine intention for increase was declared, “May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised!” (Deuteronomy 1:11).

God is into fruitfulness and He discontinues anything that will not produce. Do you remember the fig tree that would not produce fruits in Matthew 21:19 and how Jesus terminated its existence?

Seeing a fig tree by the road, he (Jesus) went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.” Unfruitfulness is contrary to divine intentions.

Furthermore, the man with one talent that would not produce was stripped of his one talent and given to the man with ten talents (Matt 25:28). Everything God created has the capability to multiply according to how God has determined it. He is the creator. He knows the potential of His handiwork. Therefore, It is unscriptural to have the mentality that God does not want you to increase. It is a lie from the pit of hell.

The plan of God is that we enter into a place of abundance. The bible says, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life (John 10:10 NLT). The very purpose of God was to fully restore man so that he enjoyed in abundance all the blessings which the blood of His Son has granted him access to. The death, burial and resurrection of Christ did not only restore us back to God, but also qualify us for a life of abundance.

When God gave his son, He had our future on His mind. The bible says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11). Jesus put it this way, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him” (Matt 7:11). God feels great pleasure when His children have all that they need to fulfil their assignment on earth.

The main purpose of increase is so that you can create pleasurable experiences for others. Hospitality is huge to God. He is extremely compassionate toward the widows, the fatherless, the homeless and the sick. Jesus was a relentless healer who maximised His gifting, anointing, energy and time in creating unforgettable experiences for thousands.

In the same way, God has invested immensely in you. But with the blessing of His investment comes the responsibility to be productive. You contain seeds of greatness. Your gifting, talents, opportunities, experiences and personalities are all divinely deposited to bless you and others. Therefore, it is a divine expectation that you become a good steward and develop every seeds of greatness God has invested in you.

Jesus was our perfect example. Since obedience was crucial to His productivity, He learned obedience the hard way so that the world would not perish. The bible says, “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.  And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek” (Hebrews 5:8-10).

You are built for productivity. You are designed for increase. It is crucial that you recognise your gifting, talents, opportunities, and experiences and start diffusing them into your environment. Somebody badly needs what you contain. The future of somebody will not begin until you step into their lives. You are a life jacket to someone who is currently drowning.

Take the time to discover and develop your divine deposits, and lavish them joyfully into your environment. The bible says, “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (Hebrews 6:10). Your kindness and servant hood are seeds that will go into your future to multiply.

Knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free” (Ephesians 6:8).

You are in my prayers.

Remain a blessing
