The Power of Planning: How It Can Help You Succeed

A plan is a written list of achievable actions required to actualise your dream. It is the systematic photograph, in black and white, of directions that leads to your desired future. Planning is the breaking down of your vision into realistic daily goals. A dream unwritten is merely a wish. But once it is committed to paper, it becomes a wonder waiting to wow the world (Habakkuk 2:2-3). A dream written down is like dynamite, detonated by quality planning and a follow-through mentality.

Planning is positioning. It is sculpturing. It is moulding into existence the road map to your future. Planning is accountability.  It is taking responsibility for your future. Planning is assigning your time a purpose. It is taking control of your destiny. Planning is scheduling your desired future experiences. Planning is preparation. It is putting yourself on the lane to success, through the power of habit. Planning is the willingness to create a path to your goal and follow-through.

Planning is a powerful platform for productivity. Planning time is a never a wasted time; rather it is investment time. Champions are passionate planners. Quality planning is the secret weapon of champions. Your victory is simply decided by the quality of your preparation. Planning is the pathway to prosperity. Success is neither a fluke nor a Lottery ticket. Success is a sequence of quality planning. Success is a journey, having a clear direction to the destination.

Planning is a heavenly trait. It is also a divine instruction (Habakkuk 2:2). God is a planner. He is a future thinker. He planned the birth, the crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus before the foundation of the earth (Revelation 13:8). He also prearranged your birth, parents, personality and assignment before your conception in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5). He even has scheduled a meal for the overcomers, called the marriage supper of the lamb, before the world began (Revelation 19:9). He is a Master Planner.

The bible is God’s divine plan for His people (Isaiah 14:26). It is the road-map to God’s intended destination for man. The Word of God is the evidence of how important planning is to God. God is into declaring the end of the matter right from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). Thus, He expects His children to the same. You have been divinely authorised to declare the end of your dream from the beginning. Begin to see your destination through the eye of the Spirit. Then create a plan to reach it.

While, it is human responsibility to plan, it is God’s responsibility to direct His steps. But without human planning, divine direction is unnecessary. God will always walk with whatever is in your hand. If nothing is in your hand, then God has nothing to walk with. The bible says, “To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue.” Planning is your responsibility. What do you desire in your future? What experience do you want to create? What do you want out life? What are you willing to become? What is it that is holding you back from pursuing your goals? What is hindering you from writing your vision down and creating a plan to reach it? Whatever grace you need to plan and accomplish your dream, God has it without measure (2 Corinthians 9:8).

God is waiting for you to speak your future into existence. He wants you to exercise the power, dominion and authority He bestowed unto you at creation. You were made in His image. You are god on the earth (Psalm 82:6). God has given you the earth to rule by your own words, just as He rules heaven by His word (Psalm 115:16). He is waiting for you to plan your own future experiences so that He can direct your steps (Proverbs 16:9). Stop coasting through life, wishing for life to happen. It is time you began to happen to life, through the power of dream and planning. Become a purposeful planner. Plan scripturally, and birth your future.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
