You Are Not a Loser

Nobody becomes a loser for failing; we are only termed “losers” when we quit trying. Therefore, the word “Loser” is really a “quit” term, and not a “failure” term. Losers are so called not because they lack the winning potential or success capabilities, but because they’ve basically accepted the failure mind-set and stopped trying.

Such individuals no longer envisage success possibilities in their own lives, probably because of their past failures, the fear of failure itself or a seriously dented self-esteem through human or circumstantial agencies. Thus, they surrendered their future to their past or into the hands of their fears, or to the negative interpretations of their self-worth.

Failure is never a prerequisite into the camp of losers. Rather failure is a staircase to success. You never lose when you fail. You only lose when you quit. I have always been inspired by one of the most popular quotes of Winston Churchill that says, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

Every failure you experience in life simply thrusts you closer to your success destiny. Success is what happens when you refuse to quit progressing, in spite of the strings of failures on your path. Henry Ford expressed the same principle this way, “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” In other words, there is wisdom for success in every failure

Therefore, instead of internalising your failures, analyse them, extract the wisdom in them and try again. Failure will always leave you in a closer position to success, providing you keep moving. Malcolm Forbes (Forbes magazine) put it this way, “failure is success when learn from It.” The treasure of failure is the wisdom it teaches us.

“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed on an equal or greater benefit,” writes Napoleon Hill. I believe this is true.  There are always advantages in our adversities. We just have to look for them, learn from them and arise courageously to try again.

What is your heart’s desire? In what area of your life are you considering quitting? What dream have you given up on? Are you publicizing your failures or are you analysing them? Refuse to quit. Build on your disappointments. Use them as your stepping stone to your future of success.
