How To Schedule Your Favour

Favour is God’s unparalleled blessings resting on man. It is a Divine preferential treatment. Favour is to be divinely enabled to prosper. But many keep asking, “Can I ever walk in the extraordinary favour of the Lord?” The answer is “yes you can.” You can, if you understand and utilise the key to Divine favour.

In the Kingdom of God, there is a path to everything – a path to salvation, forgiveness, divine intimacy, faith, wisdom, healing. But regarding favour, obedience is the path. Obedience is the key that unlocks Divine favour. Favour is never a gift without a prize; favour is the reward of obedience. Obedience is not observing the law, as we are not under the Law but under grace; rather obedience is the overflowing expression of our love for God through the help of the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:3;  Gal 2:20-21). His love for us leads to obedience (2 John 1:6). Obedience is simply our gift to God, which in return schedules for us heavenly favour.

Favour is God’s reaction to your obedience. It is God’s reward for honouring His instructions. When you obey God’s words, you document your faith in Him, and faith pleases God. As a result, favour is the reward you receive for pleasuring the heart of God through your obedience (Hebrews 11:6).

If you can grasp this revelation, you can schedule your own future and stop treading on a wrong path, think you will arrive in the favour of the Lord. The destiny God has for you is not inescapable. Your decisions will decide whether or not you will arrive there. Your destiny is in your decisions to obey God or live in disobedience. You decide your eventuality. The magnitude of the favour you enjoy with God will be proportionate to your obedience.

Abraham obeyed God and was exceedingly blessed. Joseph walked in obedience and enjoyed unprecedented favour everywhere he went, even in the prison. The favour of God is never restricted to a geographical location. God’s favour is like a mantle wrapped around you which shines and attracts favourable reactions from God and men wherever you go.

Jesus was our excellent example of obedience. The bible says, “Though He was a Son, He learned obedience (Hebrews 5:8). This was the secrets of His success on the earth- his total subjection to the will of the Father (Philippians 2:8).The bible says He grew in wisdom, in stature and in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52). He excelled in obedience, and God highly exalted Him and given the name which above every name (Philippians 2:9-11).When you pursue obedience, the favour of God pursues you.

It is important to understand that prayer is not a qualification for favour. It is rather a channel for receiving from God. But you cannot receive in prayer the favour you are not qualified for through obedience. Obedience is the qualification for God’s favour.

That is why there are many Christians who, although pray a lot, are not enjoying the favour of God because they continue to trivialise God’s instructions. For example we are instructed by God to give, walk in love and forgive. These instructions are opportunities to enter into God’s favour. Each divine instruction is impregnated with immeasurable favour.

God told Joshua to focus on His Word and prioritise obedience in order to make his way prosperous (Joshua 1:8). In other words, your prosperity is in your decisions. God has given us His Words, containing His favour. But this favour is only activated when we obey His word.

Obedience is a seed. When you sow obedience, you reap favour. God is the source of favour, but He does not decide your favour. The favour you enjoy is decided by you, through your obedience. That is why the bible says that, “If you are willing and OBEDIENT, you will eat the fruits of the land (Isaiah 1:19).”

There is nothing like the favour of the Lord. You cannot work hard enough to live the kind of life God has designed for you. Obedience releases the promises of God’s covenants upon your life and leads you to the unimaginable heavenly treasures.

Obedience guarantees you divine backing. Heaven endorses you and ushers you into the pavilion of divine preferential treatment, as you show your love to God by pursuing obedience to His Word.

“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.” Exodus 19:5
