“The Battle of Life Has No Neutral Ground; You are Either Winning or Losing”

Life is a sequence of battles. As long as we live, we will always be involved in one battle or the other. The bible tells us that we are continuously in a battle against various spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesian 6:12).

In other words, our warfare is not physical, but spiritual. Therefore, your conflict is neither against your boss who never likes you, nor against the thief who stole from you. Your real battle is against Satan, who is the commander of the powers in the unseen world. The devil is our principle adversary (1 Peter 5:8).

Satan resents every good thing that exists in the life of children of God. You will have to fight to keep everything good in your life, because the devil is always looking for ways to turn your joy into sorrow (John 10:10). That is why we are instructed to be vigilant and also not be ignorant of the devil’s schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11).

Now, since our battle against Satan is not a physical one, our mind remains extremely crucial to our victory. Why? This is because the mind signifies the middle-ground between the physical realm and the spiritual realm. The mind is the access to your heart (spirit) from where the issues of your life spring out (Proverbs 4:23), and at the same time the devil has access to your mind through your thoughts. Hence, the greatest battleground of life is that of the mind. Your mind is where winning or losing is decided.

However, it is important to remember that, if you are in Christ Jesus, your victory has already been secured when Jesus shed His blood on the cross of Calvary. Your faith in Christ therefore orchestrates your triumph against the devil and his devices (1 John 5:4).

Now, even though Christ has won the victory on your behalf, it is your responsibility to know what your right in Christ is and to claim it. You will still have to appropriate your victory through your decision. Your triumph has been decided by God, but has to be recognised, accepted, believed and unleashed by you. That is why it is important to be a student of the Word of God. Study and be equipped with the incredible knowledge of your divine inheritance in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2:15).

After knowing your divine privileges, activate your faith and begin to nullify every demonic thought or suggestion in your mind by the word of God. For example, if the devil says to you that your children will not serve the Lord, reject it in the name of Jesus and activate your faith upon relevant Scriptures, such as Psalm 112:1-3. Keep holding upon that passage of Scripture. Do not let it go. Do not give up confessing it, even when it seems your children are getting farther away from the grace of God. it is just a matter of time, Grace will catch up on them and restore them into intimacy with God.

Remember, the Bible says “we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)”.  Do not let what you see with your physical eyes make you abort the miracles which have already been conceived in your spirit the first time you activated your faith upon God’s Word. The devil will try everything within his power to sow fear and doubt into your mind in order to force you to abort your miracle that is about to be born. But never give in to his lies. Stand firm in your faith with thanksgiving.

Perhaps, you are going through a mind battle over your health, look for Scriptures, such as Isaiah 53:4-5; Isaiah 26:3) that convey God’s thoughts concerning your well-being and use them to cancel out demonic thoughts in your mind. Displace evil thoughts by God-thoughts, and continue to confess the Word of God until you see your desired physical manifestations. Say it until you see it come to pass. The word of God is active and powerful (Hebrews 4:12)! Nothing can defeat the word of faith that is declared with the power of the Holy Ghost (Isaiah 55:10-11).

When you choose to believe what God says instead of what the devil says, you’ve won the battle of the mind for that specific issue. But if you allow doubts and fear to prevail, you’ve basically relinquished your divine right to the enemy. It is then up to you to decide what you want to experience; you can decide to exercise your power and authority over the devil or shy away from it and let the devil win.

Remember that your reluctance to reach for and stand on God’s Word during your mind battle signifies that you are tending towards believing the lies of the devil in your mind. Whatever you are unwilling to confront, you cannot conquer. Your silence is authorisation for those demonic thoughts to decide your future.

Never authorise the enemy. Rather “demolish every imagination and high things that exalts itself above the knowledge of God and bring them into subjection to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). When you do that, you appropriate your divine victory, and thereby win the battle of the mind. If you dare to believe God, you will sure see the glory His manifested glory in your life.

Stay Blessed,
